Y5/Y6 Football Team
This season has been really good, we have won every game and are joint second in the league. Our song is “Who needs Mourinho, we’ve got Marenco”. Last year we won the Coca-Cola cup at the Sheffield United academy. We have a coach driver called Mick and he is our lucky coach driver because every game he drives the coach to we win. Our Y5’s don’t play matches yet but they are sometimes included in the y6 squad. This season we kicked off by beaten last year’s champions 2-0 and 2-1, we were really happy because the win took us to the top of the league and we remained still unbeaten. We have two matches remaining if we win these matches then we will win the league.
Penultimate game of the season, 1-1 draw.

It all started well for both teams with chances at each end stopped by fantastic saves. The first half wasn’t as exciting as the second. Carfield conceded early in the second half and were on the back foot for most of the half. There was a moment of inspiration when Jacob made a fantastic save to keep us in the game, by then we knew luck was on our side. In the closing stages there was a moment of magic from Kumbarai to set up Thomas who calmly slotted home to finish of a brilliant move. So the final score was 1 - 1 in a well fought game.
Last game of the season…Oh dear, we lost 3-0

The game kicked off and both teams started well and the game definitely promised goals, the early chances were definitely something but then the opposition scored, then they scored again - two quick goals to contend with and we were under pressure; when the snow started to fall we gave up which we shouldn’t have done. By half time the pressure was on them and we thought we had clawed our way back into the game with two good efforts, Thomas with one and Josh with the other. In the second half, it started well for us but then in the dying moments they scored again which definitely put the game out of our reach. So the final score was 3 - 0 and the league was over for Carfield and we are really proud of ourselves because we have done so well. Well done lads!!
